Pawpaws
November 1st, 2008Have you ever seen a pawpaw? We just happen to have a nice grove of pawpaw trees down by the river at Murphy’s Place. I hadn’t realized they were there till I was walking along beside the river and looked down. There was a pawpaw, laying right in the path. I started looking and there were several trees with lots of pawpaws on them. I’m not a big fan of pawpaws, but I tried one just to make sure they tasted like I remembered. Yep, about like a cross between a banana and a persimmon. The flesh is bright yellow and the skins are green. Here is a picture of some. So, if you are ever lost in the Ozark river bottoms, you may be able to fend off starvation till you are found just because I showed you what a pawpaw looks like.
Here you go!
See ya,
Crystal
